Do I need a premium account to own a land on Virtual Dream Estates ?
No, you do not need a premium account to own a land on Virtual Dream Estates. You may need one for the additional support services provided by Linden Lab, but for most issues related to land and basic questions, I am always happy to assist you in any way possible.

How do I buy a land ?

At the parcel, right click the ground and select « Buy Land… » from the menu.
You will get a big window with three green checkmarks down the left-hand side.
On the right-hand side will be the Virtual Dream Estates covenant and a small checkbox below it to accept the covenant terms.
First click this checkbox then click the « Purchase » button.
The parcel will now be in your name and you will have full land rights to the parcel.

How do I deed land to my group ?

When you want to give to more then one owner land rights, including setting home, then deeding land to a group is the perfect solution.
Via the group roles you can define what each group member can do on the land or give them rights to change land options and ban users when needed. How to deed the land :
1) Right-click on the land to open the « general » tab in the « About land… » window.
2) Set the land to your group by clicking on the « Set… » button
3) Enable the « Allow Deed to Group » option
4) Click on the « Deed… » button.

How do I divide or join land parcels ?

Subdividing Land :
1) Stand on your parcel.
2) Right-click the ground and select « Edit Land ». The ground will change color, you are now in edit mode.
3) Your mouse can now be used to left-drag a yellow bounding box around part of your land to select it. Do this to select the portion of land you wish to chop into its own parcel.
4) With the area selected, you can now click « Subdivide… » from the Edit Pane. If you can’t see this option but can see a More button, click that first and you should see the Subdivide option appear.
5) It will prompt you to confirm the split. Once you have agreed – your land will be divided into two separate parcels.

Joining Land :

1) Stand on one of the parcels you wish to join to another.
2) Check that both parcels of land are adjacent (they share a border at some point).
3) Check that both parcels are within the same region. You cannot join land across a region boundary.
4) Check that both parcels have the same owner. You cannot, for example, join your group land to your personal land.
5) Then right-click the ground and choose « Edit Land ».
6) Now you are able to drag the yellow land select box. What you are aiming to do here is to drag the yellow selection such that it spans the border between the two parcels you want to join. You need to have selected a little land from both parcels that are to be joined. You do not need to select all of both parcels, just some from both.
7) With that done, you should now be able to click the « Join… » button from the Edit Pane. If you can’t see this option but can see a More button, click that first and you should see the « Join… » option appear.
8) With both parcels now joined into one, check the About Land window (right-click the ground and choose « About Land ») to make sure that your settings are correct.

Can I share prims between parcels ?

Yes, as long as the parcels are in the same region and are owned by the same owner or same group.

I need more prims, what are my options ?

Since prims count is related to land area then the standard way to get more prims is by acquiring more land in the same region so that you can share prims, or moving to a new parcel entirely that is larger with more prims.

I found another parcel that fits my needs better, what do I do ?

Please contact one of our agents for assistance. In virtually all cases, we will transfer existing tier to the new parcel, prorated to the new rate if the new rate is different (higher or lower). You do not have to wait for your current lease to expire.

I need to change groups or have the name back in my name. How do I change this ?

If you want to undeed group owned land then you can sell the land back to yourself for 0L$. You need to be one of the owners of the group to be able to do this. If you are not one of the owners of the group, please contact one of our agents for assistance. We can easily reclaim the parcel and set it for sale to you for 0L$. Note that you must be the avatar paying the tier board or have the authorization of that entity.

How to set land for sale :

1) Right click on the ground and open the « About land… » options.
2) Click on the « Sell Land… » button.
3) Enter the price and to who you want to sell to.
4) Click on the « Set Land For Sale » button.
PS : You can only sell the land for 0L$ if you enter the name of the buyer. If you want to sell land to anyone then the price has to be more then 0L$.

What happens if I don’t want to keep the land any longer ?

Go to « About Land… » and hit the « Abandon Land… » button, then please contact one of our agents so we can reclaim the land and set it back for sale.

Can I sell my land to someone else ?

Yes, you are permitted to sell the land when you are ready to move on. The existing tier you paid will be transfered to the new tenant. Please contact one of our agents to change the name in our tier system.
